British Columbia verfügt über unzählige Wanderwege inmitten spektakulärer Landschaften. Schließlich hat British Columbia mehr als 850 Parks und Naturschutzgebiete sowie ganzjährig geöffnete Resorts. Der bekannteste Trail in British Columbia ist der international beliebte West Coast Trail im Süden von Vancouver Island. Diese 75 km lange Küstenstrecke fasziniert Wanderer aus aller Welt, nicht nur wegen ihrer spektakulären Natur, sondern auch, weil sie eine echte physische Herausforderung darstellt.

Sandstrände, Regenwälder und das Rauschen des Pazifischen Ozeans erwarten Wanderer entlang der Küste von Vancouver Island. In den Gezeitentümpeln am Botanical Beach entlang des Juan de Fuca Marine Trail tummeln sich Meerestiere, während sich die einsamen breiten Sandstrände des Naikoon Provincial Park in Northern BC über ca. 100 km erstrecken. Auf dem Sunshine Coast Trail eröffnen sich dem Wanderer herrliche Ausblicke auf das Meer, während alter Waldbestand kühlen Schatten spendet.

Bewundern Sie die farbenfrohen roten, gelben und orangefarbenen Vulkanberge entlang des Rainbow Range Trail an der Cariboo Chilcotin Coast. Lassen Sie sich auf dem Rockwall Trail im Kootenay National Park von hoch aufragenden grauen Klippen und auf dem Berg Lake Trail am Mount Robson von den schneebedeckten Berggipfeln beeindrucken.

Aber auch Städte wie Vancouver, Victoria und Whistler sind nur einen Steinwurf von stillen Wäldern und spektakulären Wander- und Spazierwegen entfernt. Probieren Sie doch einmal den einfach zu begehenden Galloping Goose Trail ab Victoria, die unzähligen Wege im Cypress Provincial Park in der Nähe von Vancouver oder den landschaftlich reizvollen Lost Lake Trail in Whistler aus.
